I spent the three-day weekend resuscitating/restoring/salvaging a 2002 Aprilia Caponord a friend bought about 7 years ago, from a guy who had it in storage in Key West after Lord knows how many years.
Let's just say that, if you told me the bike had been submerged, I'd believe you. All the steel bits are Red. Well, they were. All the fluids were nasty, especially the three gallons of whatever was in the fuel tank.
The clutch reservoir had dust in it. I still don't have the clutch working right - I think another bleed is in order. You can see the air inside the tires through the dry cracking.
I will tell you, unlike the Triumphs, it makes a difference which hose is the pressure side on the fuel rail.
And the bike had a magnificently overdone Evaporative Recovery System. Except the tubing they used has literally crumbled to dust. So, two vacuum port caps, and I think I'm good. Engine sounds right 'sporty'!
