2019 Headlight Disconnect for Track Day

I saw a post from 2010, but has anyone messed with a 2019 Speed Triple to see if there is a simple fuse or plug to kill the lights to prevent overheating while they are taped up?

A lot of systems run through the light harness. The European light switch has an off/on setup. If doing a lot of track days I would go with that. I know my 17 has the weird headlight series wiring.

When all else fails, get a bigger hammer!

If you have an example I'd like to see it.

Only switch blocks I've ever seen with on/off switches were on certain 955s from 1997 -2006. Never seen anything later than that (apart from my own bike that I retrofitted).

The beginning of this shows how to remove the flyscreen to get to the headlight plug.

Not sure about the current 2019 RBW models but if it's anything like the earlier 1050s interrupting the headlight supply means you'll probably have to put a jumper across the starter lock out circuit on the cluster/ECU canbus.

I have a 2017 Speed Triple. For track days, I just disconnect the plug off the bulb (leaving it in the headlight assembly), and put the dust cover back on. It is super easy and prevents the headlight from being on and thus overheating with lights taped up.

Worked perfectly...was quick and easy. Appreciate the tip. Only took about 2 minutes.
