I'm preparing to buy and customize a new S3 and I have questions for current owners

I'm currently deployed to afghanistan and spending all of my time plotting what I'm going to do with my pay upon my return home.

I'm pretty much sold on getting an '09 speed triple.

Now, seeings how I don't have access to a S3 and won't for a few months yet, I've got questions.

What are the dimensions of the stock exhaust cans?
Is there an aftermarket tail light with integrated turn signals available for the '08 and later model? (I've only found them for '07 and earlier.)

I've a host of other questions and explanations, and I want to share my ideas for what will be a decidedly ridiculous motorcycle, but This post is already uncomfortably long, so I'll wait for responses.

By all the gods tomorrow will be a day of reckoning.

The longer I'm deployed the more extravagant (read: ridiculous) my ideas for this motorcycle become. For example, I already have plans to replace the stock headlight assembly with the german-made 'skeletor' fairing from megatech:

And the exhaust will most likely be the blacked-out version of the tailgunner slip-on exhaust which claims an approximate 4 hp gain in spite of its cartoon appearance (though I'm not sure whether to get the 4" or 5" model--that's why I need the dimensions of the stock cans)

By all the gods tomorrow will be a day of reckoning.

I need to know if a can that is 15.5" long by 5" diameter will fit and still allow use of the passenger footpegs.

Failing that, will the same length can in a 4" diameter work?

By all the gods tomorrow will be a day of reckoning.

Wow, thats some fairing and I dont think I have ever seen such a pipe either

I cant help you with dimensions as I own an 07, I stuck a carbon GP MIVV can on mine, which looks a bit tame compared to your choice.

The 08 on tail light is the same as the 675 Daytona. If you search under Daytona plenty come up, not many under Speed Triple for some reason

I have an 07 with the arrow slip on cans which i believe is the same kit for the 08/09 (someone correct me if i am wrong).

I just went out and measured the arrows. they look to be just over 4" in diameter, and about 15 inches long (measuring the body of the pipe only, not the portion that goes into the mid-pipe).

Umm...wow.....I guess..........

Anyway I measured my stock 08 exhaust. The can is 14.75" from the end of the outlet to the pipe. And it is oval in shape, being taller than it is wide. It is 4" wide and 5.5" tall.

I'm really wondering why, if you're planning on doing such a thing, you would start with such a beautiful bike rather than just starting with an ugly one.

Thanks a lot. I'll probably grab the smoked version of clear alternatives' integrated daytona taillight. Thinking about emailing them to suggest they list it as compatible with the 08-09 speed triple.
