Since I'm a father of two small children, I don't have time to do much modification, so I bought a bike off a friend of a friend that had already been heavily modified in the manner that I had in mind. One of the benefits of getting older is being okay with just buying someone else's custom, rather than having to update everything yourself. The bike is a 2008 carb'd Thruxton, converted to a scrambler set-up (it was dubbed the Thruxler), and the updates I've made are nothing compared with the vast work done by the guy I bought it from.

Modifications

Exterior
The previous owner had the tank repainted with a custom white Triumph logo. The footsets were swapped from the Thruxton rear sets to the Bonneville's. The handlebar is a scrambler set up, the front fender is bobbed, and the rear deleted. I plastic-dipped the headlight bucket in black, and replaced the stock seat with a BC Slammer in brown with matching Biltwell grips.
Exhaust
The stock unit was replaced by the previous owner with a 2-1 Arrow style, with a white ceramic coating.
Suspension
Rear shocks were replaced by the previous owner with Ohlins units.
Wheel and Tire
Wheels are stock, but the rubber is knobby Kendas.
