Red face Wisconsin to Ontario 2019 - Planning Stage

So I've got 2 weeks of vacation this year, going to round up this journey on my T100 in 1 week + a weekend. Just attached random pics I found on Google, you can view more I found to give a general idea here:

https://photos.app.goo.gl/TBXHBwqxdwqZzQ5J8

Attached map pic is a route that just highlights a general direction and the green circles contain areas I flagged in my spreadsheet.

Open to suggestions/recommendations for camping, lodging, and photography/sight-seeing!

I'm sure you've seen my trip reports from rides up there: https://edcallahan.com/TripReports. The run from Pancake Bay up to Wawa on the east side of Superior has some of the most beautiful shoreline. The Agawa Bay pictographs are fun, I see you have a picture of them already. That campground sucks though, IMO, pretty crowded. There's a better one south a couple miles and east of the highway, if you don't like crowds.

The run out to Ranger Lake on 556 is fun if you're looking for some gravel, just watch for the lumber trucks.

Looks like your route misses the Cut River Bridge, not a huge deal but might be worth adjusting a bit, although it means more time on 2.

Are you camping at all? There's neat campground on 2 right on Lake Michigan that I've never stayed at but often rest at, think it's Hog Island. Good lake access.

Running along Whitefish Bay is nice.

Thanks I'm just about to read through these! Yes I do have some camping planned.

Well I've been waiting quite a long time due to all the rain we've got. For a month I've been going nuts, I took a couple days off work because I was getting grumpy. Anyway, I leave tomorrow, albeit with a revised trip. Farthest out now is Sault Ste Marie, and that's probably just for a couple stops and good ol' Tim Hortons. I am leaving tomorrow morning, finally!

When you head south from Paradise, I wouldn't go all the way down to 28. I'd take Shoreline Drive along the shore of Whitefish Bay. A detour north to Whitefish Point may be warranted too if you have time. I've never been up there, I didn't know the road was paved until recently, and it's so sandy in that area I didn't want to deal with a non-paved road. Next time I'm up there it's going to be a destination though.

And from Munsing you should consider taking H-58 to Grand Marais, then 77 south. H-58 is pretty nice, and there's a little diner in Grand Marais I like a lot, West Bay Diner: https://goo.gl/maps/4Ez2RrFD4WTxRJkV7

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll keep an eye out.

Did a dry run with my Nelson-Rigg drybags

Dry bags are so nice, beats the heck of trying to keep everything in their own plastic bags. That looks like a good setup.

Whenever I see a trip itinerary that includes Canada I think of catsup-flavored potato chips in Canada; I love 'em. I can't find them in WI.

You might want to think about riding down the western side of MI to take the SS Badger from Ludington to Manitowoc. The ship uses a coal powered steam engine. It is slower than the Milwaukee-Muskegon ferry but it moves along pretty well. The boat is so large that it holds semi-trucks and plenty of cars and bikes to give you a break from riding.
