Soliciting route suggestions : NOLA to Vegas

Will meet a friend in NOLA late March then back to Nevada via 2-lanes. Weather has me flummoxed. Planning to stay far south until the turn north. Just a few spots on the radar: San Antonio, Austin, Big Bend NP, Carlsbad Caverns, and Tombstone.

Would really appreciate any suggestions, either places to stay or see.

A few years back I rode US-90 from Pensacola through Mobile and into New Orleans, connecting with US-190 North of Lafayette and on over to Jasper, Texas. A very nice back road ride through some lovely country.

I see you also mentioned Tombstone... I rode to Tombstone a couple of years ago and found it less than eventful. No place to park without paying a parking fee and Tombstone is pretty much a tourist trap unfortunately. I found it was a waste of time... YMMV.

Big Bend is most definitely worth checking out and in the Spring I understand the desert flowers are spectacular.

Hill Country in West Texas is certainly another area to ride. . Awesome roads for motorcycles and of course the infamous "The Twisted Sisters" is there.

If you do ride over to Hill Country you should visit the Lone Star Motorcycle Museum in Vanderpool. This museum is owned by a gentleman originally from Australia and is a friend of good friends of mine.

How was your trip home? I'm very curious what route you ended up taking and if you made it to Hill Country?
