Hello,
I know the L.E.D. idiot light conversion kits are readily available, but some sellers state they are for models up to 2010 only.
My Speedmaster is a 2016. Has anyone fitted them to a later model, and do they work?
I have these on mine and they work well. https://www.fasteddysports.com/products-page/?product_id=774
Not sure if you need to do the diode mod when just putting in the led turn indicator idiot light or not. I put in led turn signals and had to do the diode mod anyhow, so no experience with just the idiot light conversion.
Edit: mine is a 2013 so should be the same as the 2016.
I bought the kit that Fast Eddy sells for my 2013 America and they were plug-n-play. I didn't have to mod anything until I put LEDs in all four turn signals.
These DO make a difference. I have them on an older America. Even here in the California desert where the sun is so bright it hurts, you can see the idiot lights in broad daylight. ...J.D.
Idiot Light conversion kit arrived from New Bonneville today.
The 3 LED bulbs all look the same though!
I thought there would be 1xRed (Oil Pressure), 1xGreen (Neutral), and 1xGreen (Indicators) with the ability to accept reverse polarity for the single indicator bulb!
If anyone has fitted them, were your's all be the same?
Yes, they are the same white light just like the incandescent lamps being replaced. The colored lens in the console is the only thing that makes a color difference.
Just ordered a set. Really mostly for the turn signals, hopefully the bright light will remind me to turn them off. Got them from Fast Eddy as listed above.
Mrob, you will like the difference it makes for the turn signal idiot light. Once in awhile the sun would kinda make the oil pressure light look like it was on and the only way to verify would be to cast a shadow on it with your hand. That's no longer an issue.
