The first 200k

So after having the new bike (Striple R) in the garage for a whole week and unable to ride it (long story)...

I finally got out last night and today and put 200 km's on it.

I have to admit I was scared:eek: out of my wits.. but my buddy coached me along and I have to admit my confidence has grown.

I look forward to riding alot more and getting to know some of the other RAT;s in Calgary.

Second ride

Hi all, I had my second ride today on my brand new '09 T100, about 50 km round trip:

http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Shelbourne+St&daddr=Fowler+Rd+to:7-10189+McDonald+Park+Rd,+sidney,+bc+to:W+Saanich+Rd+to:Shelbourne+St&geocode=FSLj4wIdPgOm-A%3BFZmg5AIdZlyl-A%3B%3BFWRc5AId5rGk-A%3BFbTi4wIdQAOm-A&hl=en&mra=ls&via=1,3&sll=48.531725,-123.36741&sspn=0.018046,0.043516&ie=UTF8&z=11

West Saanich Rd is great, smooth curves, 60 - 80 km/h, moderate traffic. Nice for a returning rider like me. Came back on the highway for the first time, 100 km/h, pretty heavy traffic because a ferry had arrived. Stopped for ice cream and some groceries then back to home! Temp was in the high 20's celsius so full gear was a bit much!

All in all, a great day!

Departure time around mid morning, and estimated travel time is +/- 9Hrs.

Anyone interested post here or PM me.

Just got back... Wow.. a perfect 6 days. There is no way there could have been more ideal conditions for riding.

Little traffic on most roads. And the road from the Crawford ferry to Creston has been repaved about 1/2 way so the pavement is great.

So great we did it twice.. LOL

In 6 days we did a total of 2600 km's and I have to say.. my butt hurts.

Friday 13th Port Dover

Is anyone going to Friday the 13th in Port Dover, Ontario in August?

Here's a pic of the last one in June 2008. It was a world record for largest one day bike tour.
