HJC RPHA 70 ST

Hi all,

I've owned a basic Solution helmet and an AGV K4 Evo in the past but neither helmet has really wowed me. I saw revzilla was pushing this helmet and was wondering if anyone here owns one and if so, how do they like it.

Thanks

I have one that I bought on closeout for around $200. I tend to fit into HJC helmets well and this one is not exception. Very comfortable and I like the drop down sun viser. My only complaint is that it seems to be loud. Could just be me and my bike but I have other HJC helmets that are definitely quieter.

Good luck.

$200?! What a deal! I've only seen solids go for as low as $360! Where did you buy it?

I have the HJC RPHA 70 ST Grandal Helmet. It is my opinion that Rpha 70 is a very good helmet, but not a great one. I agree it is loud, so wear ear plugs. But I don't think it will wow you. I think I was expecting something a bit more from it, not really sure, so I may end up getting the AGV Sportmodular.

Is the loudness coming from good venting?

Oh forgot to mention, venting is pretty okay for sure, but some of the buttons to open them are just frustratingly small, when wearing gloves, including an additional chin vent, that only opens from the inside of the chin, why? Much of the loudness is caused by my having to ride on freeways doing 80/90 mph, so if you don't have to go fast, then it'll certainly be quieter.

Having said all that, it's still a good helmet for the price point. Its comfortable and relatively light, and padding feel nice. Visor is dark enough and covers my eyes well, the lever to open and close them works pretty good too.

It's an awesome helmet for $200. I'm shopping right now, too, and like the OP, HJC just seems to fit well.

As a rule, better venting = more noise.

Keep us informed about your decision and experience.

I have one and I like it. Fit's well. I love the look of the graphics. Good venting and good sun visor. It is loud though but I always wear earplugs unless I am doing a short ride, running errands on surface streets at lower speeds or whatever.
