Hey Folks,

Welcome to this forum! Like Shawn said in his intro, I don't work for RAT. I am just a "committed" Pack leader that wants to help others get the most out of the RAT experience.

I think we assume most folks have heard of RAT out there, but then again, more and more folks are buying Triumphs second hand - not being granted an inittial free year of membership to the organization. So, for the benefit of those folks, what is RAT???

The Riders Association of Triumph (R.A.T) is the only official factory-run rider’s club for Triumph motorcycle owners. This organization is designed to create, and develop, a unique atmosphere that is focused around riding Triumphs. One of the goals of R.A.T is to maximize motorcycle satisfaction. To do so, R.A.T supports and offers a venue of group activities, organized rides, and regional Triumph gatherings. The Riders Association of Triumph offers assistance and direct support to Triumph dealerships through R.A.T Regional Coordinator and the dealership’s official R.A.T Pack Leader.

Riding groups known as ‘RAT Packs’ are organized groups of Triumph riders under direction of their Pack Leader. The Pack Leader should be a position appointed by the dealer. Pack Leaders generally motivated Triumph owners that are willing to organize groups of Triumph owners with direct dealership involvement and assistance from the RAT Coordinator.

Leaders are key for the Pack’s success. Packs can be a real challenge to run. Think about it - practiocally every type of motorcycle is represented by the Triumph line-up. Imagine how challenging it can be to keep all these folks engaged and make the rides fun for everyone! It is not a impossible task, but definitely one for someone with a positive attitude, and boundless energy and creativity. What direction you want your riding club to take; monthly meetings, newsletter, organized rides, Pack events, Bike nights, dealer events and track days?!? It all depends on what the MEMBERS want.

Dealer involvement is important for a RAT Pack. The responsibility of the sponsoring Triumph dealer is to stay involved with what the Pack is doing. Offering assistance and support to what the Pack Leader is trying to do is of utmost importance. A RAT Pack can generate a lot of positive returns for the sponsoring dealer. In time, a Pack is capable of making a good presence in the local public eye.

If you want to form a pack - contact your dealer and the regional RAT coordinator for your area of the planet. Drop me a line if you are not sure of your coordinator contact, I'll be glad to help.

Have a blast! Ton Up!

Just a note from the new pack leader Dennisra1 in Tennessee. I was one of two who road our bikes in the rain to the first meeting from our dealer to establish
interest in forming a pack. They nominated me pres. and the other brave soul VP. lol
I am excited and accepted the challange.
We've had two rides in Oct. and have 8 rats.
It's a start and wish us well.

Why does Triumph still use the saying that they are the only maufacturer based club? Just a question that I have been asked before and I did not have an answer for.

Roger the only manufacturer based club for TRIUMPHS is what they use, and that will continue to be a true statement. ;-) There may be other Triumph clubs out there, but this is the only one that receives factory support.

That is how we can get the demo trucks and other perks at Triumph events. Also... all the free Triumph stuff!

Wow, I just bought my NEW Triumph a couple of months ago and didn't even know I was a member for a year. (didn't even know what "RAT" was for that matter). Maybe someone should tell the folks at Pat Clark Motorsports in Las Vegas to inform their customers of this "club" when they buy their new bike.

Jbird:

It used toi be you were a member for the 1st year, now that has changed. Now you need to go out to the Triumph site and sign up. Go to http://www.triumph.co.uk , go the the country sight for your area, and fill out the info for RAT.

The best part is it is free!
