While this is a Tesla problem with the door handles, the deadly fire is a result of the lithium batteries.......

Face it guys, it's already the case that our vintage machines were designed for gas and oil that are no longer available (hence the fuel additives and the aftermarket oil filters). In another 20-30 years, those of us still above the ground will be regarded as weird cranks riding our "smoker" machines. If nothing else, China, which is the dominant car consumer in the world, has made it clear that by around 2040 they are phasing out the internal combustion engine in favor of EVs, and the EU is heading the same way. Once that happens, the gasoline vehicles will wither on the vine for lack of support.

I haven't read through this entire thread, yet. But, to the thread title "Best electric motorcycle" I suppose there has to be one better than the others but, the reality is, they are not a valid option. Until there is an electric that can run for at least 5 hrs and many miles it is just not a feasible concept. The pollution from the battery manufacture, the cost of replacing said batteries, charge time, limited range, lack of charging\exchange stations, there's more I'm sure, all leads to one conclusion. There is no best electric motorcycle. The visceral feel and smell, sound of ICE bikes cannot be replaced (ICE engines from any sort of transport for that matter) by inferior technology any time soon. They will have to pry my stable, that will be left to my son, out of my cold dead hands.

With current technology and infrastructure, widespread use of EVs cannot work in the UK, Unfortunately, most UK politicians have been drawn into the warmist frenzy.

In the UK, there is a risk that ICEs will be ostracised by the medjia and the sheep; we'll end up being forced to live in "sustainable" mud huts, wear sackcloth and - worst of all - use public transport.

You've only got to see the antics 0f "Extinction Rebellion" to understand how demented the believers can be.

Extinction Rebellion activist is grilled on UK television re: "billions will die".
