General Riding Gear - Gloves & Jackets

I'm looking for recommendations on gloves & jackets. Have already sorted myself boots (Sidi), a helmet.(Evo-One Two), inner gloves (SIXs) & ordered the riding jeans (Paranoid Road Skin) I would like.

I'm fairly decided on a Xena Disc lock & perhaps an Oxford for the other wheel. A Spot Trace Tracker. Plus perhaps LED lights to go on the bike/helmet.

There's just too many options to research when it comes to other stuff.

Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

If you're looking at an alarmed Xena disc lock don't waste your time. The alarm on mine died after 6 months due to water ingress despite all the information making out it was waterproof, and when I contacted Xena they completely blanked me The physical lock however has survived two theft attempts without any damage so if you're going for a non-alarmed one happy days.

What kind of gloves are you looking for? Summer? Winter? All year round? If summer I have a set of Racer High Racer gloves and can highly recommend. They have all the armour you could ever need (inc scaphoid and linked pinky) and are very very well fitting and comfy. I recently lowsided at 60mph and they are barely even marked.

Great, thanks guys. Not really sure what type of gloves I'm looking for, summer is around the corner though so I guess I'll start with those. All rounders sound like decent value for money though.
I'll have a look 👍

Hi mate, I have several riding suits, my leather gear is custom made as is my Cordura Jacket.

For best abrasion resistance you cannot beat leathers with good armour, for best all weather gear there is a lot to choose from in Cordura Jackets and pants.

I rarely ever wear my full Kevlar lined Jeans, I feel most safe in my Leathers, 2nd most safe in my Cordura outfit that is also very well armored, Kevlar jeans....... not so much.

Each to their own though.

My advice is buy the best quality you can afford.

cheers

Ooh, I figured out how to quote somebody lol.
My friend gave me some of his stuff (pictured). I'm not sure I'll use the helmet as my Shark Evo-One 2 protects the chin area.
The leathers & boots are pretty comfy though.
The jeans I ordered are Paranoid Road Skin:

They have good reviews & impressive videos of YouTube.

I just splashed most of my money on a Jaguar so need to either take a loan out or save up to get a bike now.
My Volvo has 225K miles & started feeling like it was on the verge of breaking, I need a car to take the family out.

I've seen some cheap bikes I could start on, will try to save up over the next few months.

Cheers mate 👍

Helpful to add your general location.

For gloves....if you are in the US, next time you are in Home Depot check out the work gloves. Many affordable options. I buy those around the $20 price point. Seem to last a couple of seasons and work well in the warmer weather.

2013 Thruxton: Hagon 2810, Ricor Intiminators; STS; AI & O2 removed; 2>1 baffle remove; airbox snorkel and restrictor removed; TTP; Tail Tidy; Eastern Beaver Relay; LED Indicators; Tubeless Rim Conversion; Pirelli Angel GTs 110/80-18, 150/70-17
