Why shouldn't I buy a 675?

Time for my current Jap 600 to go, replacement sports bike needed for backroads. I want more power below 10k rpm, but a litre bike will probably be too much for backroads (and me!).

Been through the reg/rec saga with my 955i Sprint, so not too concerned if similar arises with a 675, any other major issues?

A Suzuki GSXR750 is a possibility, more bhp, slightly lighter, but it's not a triple, nor is it British.

Max budget 4k.

Where could I go wrong with a 675?

Where could you go wrong with a Daytona? Hmmm... You might ride too much. You might have too much fun. You might lose your friends. But don't worry, they will catch up when you stop somewhere.

Some of the earlier ones have stator and R/R problems by now, and if you find one that's been abused, it's like any other bike that's been abused. Other than that, there's no reason I can think of not to buy one. Unless you really want to curve your spine and slouch on a big slow Harley. There's that. But you may not be like that, so a Daytona is a good idea.

It's a squid thing. You wouldn't understand.

Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there lurks the skid demon.
