no start diagnostic

I am experiencing the following no start condition on my 99 Daytona 955i:

Fuel pump primes but one of the relays clicks when I try to start.

Battery tests as good - 12.6 ignition off, 11.7 ignition on
Makes no difference if side stand up or down
Lights work
All dash light functions appear including neutral light
horn and signal lights do NOT work

To save time would love to get a better idea of:

What sensors or control functions can I eliminate with this condition?

Which sensors or control functions do I still need to test?

Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Does the engine crank over or you just hear a click? Check fuses.

And 11.7 key on seems a bit low as well?

Nitrous on a bike is like a hot chick with STDs, you want to hit it, but you're just not sure of the consequences...

Should have added NO cranking. Fuses tested and look good. No start accompanied by clicking in one of the relays. Thanks.

The click is probably the starter-headlight-cut relay you are hearing - that suggests that the circuit through the start switch is operating.
If the headlights go out if you hold the start button in (and you hear the relay click on when you press it & click off when you release it) then the problem is most likely the clutch switch
But note also that 11.7V is not great .....

Horn and signals not working. Are you sure the fuses for those are okay? Ground issue?

PROBABLY unrelated but not necessarily - Horn, signals (And brake light) all come off same fuse - Fuse 4; so check that fuse for that problem

The other thing that may be issue on that generation would be the ground block (I believe that should be on your model's harness):
That is a block where all the ground wires come together just in front of battery box - that is prone to burning - there a cheap replacement/upgrade available
Do a forum search on "ground block" (and you can even do specific to my screen-name) and you will find more information on that.

One other thought - since neither horn nor signals nor (potentially) clutch switch seems to be functional, check that the left bar-switch connector has not become uncoupled where it interfaces main harness - potentially the retaining clips could be broken and connector is uncoupled.

Also it's good to give more background information - working one day, not the next? something acquired in non-running state? Not working after some maintenance activity? Something that was chronic problem (worked occasionally other times not, getting worse to point not work at all?) After a minor (or even major) accident/Bike drop?
That kind of information is really helpful when determining source of issue.

Thanks to all those who helped. Great detailed explanation of what else to be aware of.

It was the clutch switch as DEcosse first suggested. Lucky I had a spare.

Firing up your bike after all the headscratching has to be one of the best sounds in motorcycling!

This forum is a wonderful resource.

Was fuse#4 blown? Did you fix the horn, signal issue.? Or was the connector at the switches to blame?

Most likely the connector at the switch. I recently rebuilt the front and may have not fully reconnected the switch. When I replaced it with the new one (which I intended to do anyway) it came off at the connector quite easily. Maybe too easily.
