Starter gears sprag clutch

G'day all, haven't posted for quite a while......Bonneville just keeps going,.....BUT, I do have a t595 Daytona that I've pulled apart to replace the needle roller bearing and sleeve on the starter gear shaft. I have a couple of questions....

1....The original sleeve is splined to fit on the splined shaft , but the sleeve I got is not splined , the sleeve gets locked in by the bolt through the shaft at 40Nm clamping it in so I'm assuming that the splines are now redundant.......So has anyone put one of these in without any problems?

2....The needle roller bearing had dissintegrated and the outer shell came out in two pieces ...split down the middle,......I've got the new one he it has a seal on one side but since the original as so far gone I don't know which side the seal should face? I have a manual that has pics but from what I can see there is no seal on either side.?

3....Has anyone reused the long bolt without any problems or replaced it with a HT bolt from a bolt shop with no problems?...........just curious of this because a new Triumph one is cheap enough, just won't be here for a month or so?

Thanks Al

Alex

Update....to my post.....

G'day, did some asking around, ...
the sleeve must be a revised design,
The seal on the bearing goes to the outside,
The bolt,..... I'm still workin on,......
