it wasn't intentional, took off this morning at 6:30 am (dawn here at the moment), off over my close and fun motorcycle roads in the hills was travelling at a very respectful posted speed limit speed of 100kph.
When what felt like a 150mm rock hit my left leg just below the knee and above the top of my Falco race boots about where my knee slider would normally go (I don't wear them on my leathers on the road anymore).
Feeling that was a really hard hit through my leathers and thermals, I thought what the [email protected]
#k was that???
as I glanced down at my leg, to see if it was still intact, and whilst backing off on the throttle at the same time I spotted in the mirror a small kangaroo (likely around 40kg) beating a hasty retreat back into the scrub line on the left side of the road, from whence he clearly originated.
I'd say the poor little bouncy guy has a really bad headache
Lucky for me my Tiger Angel leather pants have a 10mm thick CE shin and knee armour and that I have a skeletal bone density measurement that tops the charts (recently determined about 6 months ago by a Dexa scan). I had a sore leg for about an hour and a tiny bruise.
No damage to me or the shiny red Daytona 955i
In 48 years of riding motorcycles I have had at least 4 really close calls with larger roos, but once again I was very very lucky.
Also managed to dodge a revenue camera and an unmarked Police car...... bounus.
