Thruxton R - New Headers VS X-Pipe

Hi everyone,

I have a 2019 Thruxton R currently running the Cone Engineering "Shorty's" along with the Pod Filter Kit from A&J Cycles. No Booster Plug, no PowerCommander. Looks great, sounds great, runs great. But a little more volume and a little more power never hurts, so trying to decide between spending $650 on a Arrow Racing Header from A&J Cycles OR spend $125 and get the Cone Engineering Cat Delete "X-Pipe" and keep the stock headers.

Besides the drastic difference in cost, what are the Pros/Cons?

Thanks,
John

I have the Cones, Arrow Headers and A&J filters. Donít know how it compares to an X pipes, but I can tell you that the performance and sound are incredible. No issues with running lean or rich. You wonít be disappointed. I also had A&J install a performance map with TuneECU that made it all better. Iíd assume thereís a small weight advantage with the headers. Do it right, get the straight headers.

Hereís a video of my bike so you can get a sense of the sound. The video doesnít do it justice, though. One thing, itís very loud. I personally love it, but I can see how itís not for everyone. Sounds like a mean race bike.

This is a great looking and sounding bike.

I'm curious about the other mods you've made to the bike.

Looks like a different set of clip-on's, and I like the minimal single mirror. Can you tell me what you all did to clean up the front end / handlebars and what products you used? Do you have signals? Thanks.

I swapped the whole OEM system for an Iron Cobras 2:1.

Weight saving was about 11 kg.

I think it sounds great.
