Definitely. Easy way for me to tell when the oil is at operating temp so I can beat on the bike.

Quality is great, too.

I tried one of those temp gauges and checked it for accuracy in boiling water.

It was so far out I would have been better off just using my elbow.

Binned it.

I have the same one on mine. It just replaces the oil fill cap, does not have any stick that goes down and sits in the oil. It gets its reading from slung oil and the heat from the crank case so in terms of accuracy, it's not the most accurate. It does give you a decent idea thought of general temps, so if it reads 150 you are most likely around 170ish. It's way easier to unscrew for oil changes than the oem cap, it's cheap, and in my opinion looks cool.

Iím finding the Thruxton an excellent touring bike. Took it to the Southern Highlands in preference to my Tiger. Hard to tell but it was around 8 degrees C.
