any one out there have a/the procedure for preloading the scissor gears located on the cam shaft drive?? has anyone not done it correctly? any damage or noise result???

You're talking about the spring-loaded split gear on the cams themselves, right? I found something that would fit the hole, like a drill bit maybe. Once you spin the spring loaded gear enough the hole in the stationary gear will line up. Put the drill bit in to hold them in place until you've got one of the caps in place. If I recall, the spring loading amounts to about the distance of one tooth.

Excellant.... exactly what i needed to know... now if this is not loaded correctly i would get a bit of back lash through my cams and associated noise??? pretty sure i have nailed my noisy top end problem, you would think the shop would know this eh?!
