Was told this is a 1970, I’m guessing a TR6c ? So what is it and what is it worth in real life. Is anything correct by one crappy picture ? If anybody can pick this apart from said crappy picture it’s the group here. I have first dibs and need to act quickish.

A '70 always has the little bolt on front motor mount plates. Can you see that in your copy of photo? I can't tell.

TR6C has folding pegs & offset rigid handle bar mounts. Looks like this bike might have that, but photo is not that clear.

Do I see a primary breather, starting in 1970? Again photo is not that clear.

Bike has had some changes made to it. Doesn't look like you could go too far wrong with this bike.

I had a '70 TR6C. Best bike I ever owned.

Over £4000 in the UK. Any 650 engine in non running condition will be over £1500 now. Re-importing old bikes back to the UK is getting popular again especially the 60s and 70s Japanese bikes. with Kawasaki 750 triples well over £10,000 now. A good condition TR6C would be around £6500 at the moment.

Value? If you can afford to pay whatever is asked and it's what you want it's worth it. I try to avoid direct value comments.

By some small bits it appears to be a TR6C. It's missing the bird cage over the exhaust system. Looks like someone has been making the headlight shell 'better' and I believe the C model didn't come with two gauges.

If it's what YOU WANT go for it.

You snooze you lose!

Ok guys thanks for the responses, just got back in town only to leave again tonight. So a guy I worked with text me the one pic I posted and asked “what do you think of that?” He’s a Harley guy and found it literally in a barn in WV while doing a car repo. Paid next to nothing for it and might want to sell it. So I asked here... did some searches and figured out what it appears to be, still hasn’t sent me the vin and if it’s matching numbers yet (don’t want to sound to interested) So I’m waiting on a text from him about numbers then I’ll make him an offer he can’t refuse. Depending on the numbers that is. Let you know what happens if anyone is interested that is.

It is fascinating to see how little these Triumphs sell for in the States. Most engines sold at autojumbles here are brought back in containers. One seller seems to have a large selection of part dismantled engines in poor condition and parts missing, yet, they are above £1000 even as they are, often seized up. There is an engine on ebay near me. Seller wants over £2000 for it.

I've sold a double-handful of engines for $1,000 each, typically needing a few bits, cover screws, and total overhaul. I could sell another dozen in less than a year without breaking a sweat.

Try to piece one together and you'll spend 2 to 3 times as much.

I bought a tls wheel from a local guy and collected it.
His wife said that a friend in the states had been cutting up wheels and frames for scrap until they said to send them over here
I don't think they sold complete bikes, just bits but it certainly seemed to pay for a nice house!

Sounds like I should start collecting bits and find an import partner maybe. There’s been quite a few popping up around here.

And to any of you who saw the drama that popped up on this post that has since been deleted, my comments where semi tongue-in-cheek and taken out of the intended meaning. The guy with the bike is a work friend... he’s 6’6” 350# ... ex-coal miner... I’m Oilfield... we tease each other, it’s what we do... no disrespect. (But I did make him cry, lol. But then I gave him a coffee and a break so...)
