The MV 500 4 cylinder was unbeatable. MV won 17 consecutive championships 58-74.
Hailwood won 4 consecutive. Titles.
The 9 mile circuit was kept until 79, then they lopped 2 miles off.
In 69 While Percy Tait was lapping at 116 miles an hour Agostini on the MV Augusta was lapping at 130 mph, Tait came second, the only rider not to be lapped by Agostini on the 9 mile circuit.
Hello Peg
I remember seeing Agostini in the MV Augusta 500 race at the Nürburgring 1971 or might have been 72 I think he lapped the field that day That MV was really fast and he rode a great race.

Ok, I'm fascinated by those oil tanks. What was the logic of having what I assume was an enormous amount of weight vs. an intercooler? Insufficient oil pressure?
I think they called them pannier oil tank and were from a Chevrolet Corvair. They lowered the center of gravity of the bike and since they were made of aluminum and were at the front they acted as oil coolers also.
