Sounds like a fun bike for blasting around the countryside.

Not for me, I still love my T100, and don't want a RE for company.

Ride safe,

Quentin

They look really good. But like all RE stuff I'm sure the quality is cheap looking and quick to rust.

It probably is built down to a price.
I wouldn't mind trying one out, though.

I've known a few bullet owners here, all raved about the post 2011 engine. No rust problems, natural vibration from a single, good quality machines. I'm sure this new 650 will be similar. India is making many of the small bikes from many manufactures these days. I would love to ride one of these.

Some of RE's engineers are from some other company based in Hinckley. I would like to think that the current RE quality has improved over the years since they are branching out with larger machines. It's not like there aren't quality issues with significantly more expensive motorcycles.

Simon Warburton, previous Product Manager at Triumph, is Head Of Product Development at Royal Enfield. Given that connection, I'd expect the Royal Enfield 650 to be a well built, reliable bike.

There doesn't seem to be any list of American dealers on the Indian website, or even anything at all at: royalenfield.com/usa that CW lists as their website.

"Not found" is what I get. The Indian RE site is very slick with lots of cool pics, but no help getting info on U.S.A. bikes/dealers.

Or am I still wrong about 'puter stuff?

Triumph of Seattle used to have a number of new RE's, but when I looked on their site this morning there was only one for sale, and it was a used 2011 model.

Two Triumph dealers here in Iowa carry RE, Baxters in Marne Ia and Fun and Sun in Iowa City Ia, both have had them for several years.
