World's Fastest Indian is probably tops. I'll pass on Easy Rider though. I couldn't believe the thunderous ovations that Peter Fonda received as he wobbled up the hill on Capt. America at this years Goodwood Festival.
Here's a couple for you to try. "The Leather Boys" starring Rita Tushingham was pretty daring for it's homosexual references in 1964 but has loads of good bikes and for a laugh get hold of "No Limit", starring George Formby and Florence Desmond, from 1936.

For years my favorite was The Wild Ones. Corney as all hell, but the music was great. Then a non-motorcycle based movie from Ireland came around, that has THE best bike scene in it ever.... Waking Ned Devine... I now use a still from it for my Avatar....

I have to agree with Long Way Down and Long Way Round as well as Road to Dakar. Granted they are a couple of rich ponces, Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman, but still very entertaining.

Not sure that I have a favorite, but the following are all high in entertainment value:

  • The Wild One (1954)
  • Easy Rider (1969)
  • On Any Sunday (1971)
  • Faster (2003)
  • The Motorcycle Diaries (2004)
  • Dust to Glory (2005)

I did quite enjoy "long way round", but the truth is there a load of folks doing that kind of adventure riding without the massive entourage backup all the time, on all sorts of bikes - whatever can be cobbled together in some cases, and I prefer hearing about their adventures.

Restless Natives - wow haven't seen that one in ages. I'd better look that up and see if it's on Netflix.

I just watched the Tunnel of love and they say there's a flash of nipple in that thing. I ran it back and forth a couple of times and I guess I'm slowing down in my old age 'cause I never saw it. Bill Gates probably only allowed me the sensored version. At 62 I can definetly identify with the film though.
A few weeks ago I rewatched The Wild One. When I was a kid in the 50's this was an exciting movie. After returning from Viet Nam in the early 70's it was laughable. But watching it now it is corny but has a couple of good lines and "real" motorcycles. Yes, Triumphs, Matchless, AJS and probably a real Harley or Indian. I forgot Lee Marvin was in the film. Seeing Marlon Brando as a fit young man and in his later movies as a fat old man really hits home. I think I'll go for a long walk when I finish this. At one point hollywood always dressed dirt bikes up as Harleys and hoped we wouldn't notice. Recently they dressed a new bike to look like a Harley in Indiana Jones. The Wild One was worth a third look because things look different to you at different times in your life.
There is an Easy Rider prequel coming out soon called Easy Rider: The Ride Back. The guy that plays Peter Fonda looks alot like him. Lets face it bikes like the captain america bike were more for show than go. Who could ride that thing without wobbeling. You need a supermarket parking lot to turn it around.
The Long Way Round was a good series. I watched it all and enjoyed all of it.

In an interview Fonda spoke of how the bike wore him down in the arms, shoulders and back. Not at all a comfortable ride, much less a ride from L.A. to New Orleans.
Nicholson, reportedly adlibbed during the campfire scene where I thought he was brilliant.
