TEC vs Bassani vs Epco (sorry for another exhaust question!)

I'm looking at ordering or buying a second-hand exhaust for my 2014 Thruxton. I wasn't able to find a whole lot of information on the Epco and Bassani exhausts. Specifically, as it relates to subjective loudness.

(stealing this from another forum)

I'm stealing this from another forum, because it looked really helpful:

1/10 Stock exhaust
3/10 TORS
4/10 Norman Hyde Peashooters
5/10 Norman Hyde TOGA
6/10 Dominator Touring
7/10 Dunstall Replica
8/10 Predator BC's sleepers
9/10 Emgo reverse cone shorty
10/10 D&D megaphones
11 /10 Straight pipes

Where would Bassani, Epco, and TEC (without baffles) fit on this scale?

I've got about3K miles on the TEC 2:2 Clubman system, which replaced the Togas on my Bonneville.
I have no idea what the bike sounded like with OEM mufflers, but IMO, the Togas were nice and mellow.
A buddy said, "I thought it was a hot rod BMW coming down the street."
After hearing that I bought the used TEC system (BMW, indeed!).
The TEC system is definitely louder than the Togas, and is marginal when I do a 3000rpm test (Look to see if pedestrians turn and look when I cruise by at 3000rpm).
My buddy knows that it's NOT a BMW now!
I've never had the urge to mount the OEM mufflers, even though they came with the bike.
The Togas were not baffled and a 10 second test with the TEC baffles got them yanked out!

7/10, using my very subjective ear.
Additionally, the TEC system has a sharp, edgy sound where the Togas were, as I said, more mellow.
I've been thinking about modifying the TECs with SuperTrapp innards and 4" disks over the winter, but that will depend on being able to source the pieces I need.

I recently replaced my TORS exhaust with the TEC 2-into-1 "cafe," which is their long megaphone silencer that looks like an Arrow system. I have a 2001 Bonneville with pod filters.

With its baffle in place, the TEC system sounds almost exactly like the TORS did. I haven't removed the baffle, so I can't comment on that sound.

I’ve got Basanni’s on my SE. The internal baffles remove with two bolts, essentially making the volume highly adjustable. You can run them wide open with no end cap, with the end cap, with the steel baffle sans packing (my choice), or with packing. It will take the volume from ear splitting to a growl. I can’t say enough good things about them and I’d buy another set in a heart beat. My 2 cents...

PS: I should add that the quality is first rate, installation is stupid easy and they look killer. Whew, I’m done now.

I had TORS on my 2013 Thruxton, wasn't loud enough. Most of the people I ride with are on Harleys. Replaced with the TEC 2 into 2 with the shorty mufflers. With baffles, not much louder, without, a lot louder. Quality is good enough and I like the extra sound. Also, one of the few systems you can actually keep your centerstand.

The Epcos are beautiful pipes. I really miss the growl of mine on my new bike. I have TORs and they are not nearly loud enough for me :)

Honestly I have seen and heard and rode with many pipes on these bikes.
The Preds on my friends Bonny can be heard from blocks away and behind him is beautiful. They are at least a 9/10. My BC sleepers are about a 7/10, which is perfect for everything. The D D 2-2 on another I used to have was about an 8/10. The TEC tracker with baffle 6\10 and without was awesome 9/10. The arrows 2-2 with baffle maybe 5/10 and without 7/10, but older guys have said it was much louder.
Never heard the epco or the bassani. If anything I expect the bassani to be very loud.

BC Predators - 9/10
BC Sleepers - 7/10
DD 2-2 - 8/10
TEC 2-1 tracker - 6/10 baffle, 9/10 no baffle
Arrow 2-2 - 5/10 baffle, 7/10 no baffle

I would place the Bassani 4" megaphones on par with the Cone Engineering Dominator Touring mufflers. I just love the sound. To me, being the golden-eared Audiophile that I am... tonality is more important than relative loudness.

The Norman Hyde teardrops for example, having a length of straight tail pipe, produces a more mid-range 'growl' exhaust note, which many consider an iconic British sound.

The Cone, Bassani, D&D, Emgo megs and similar megaphone mufflers have a deeper 'booming' sound. Think more big block American V8 than high revving Euro 4 cylinder interms of exhaust note.

I run Bassani's on my daily rider.
