Took delivery yesterday of a new 07 America and haven't stopped smiling yet.
It's been 15 years since I last had a bike and in those days it was all off-road MX / Enduro bikes. So this is my first official "road" bike.
She's pretty much stock except for some aftermarket pipes that are manufactured locally in SA. You pretty much tell them the sound you looking for and they make them accordingly. Sounds awesome !!!!
Went for a quick ride last night to get a feel for the bike and giggled like a school girl the whole time. Can't wait for the weekend to get in a nice long ride.
welcome and congrats on the new ride. I love my america and Im sure you do too. These things are addicting and youll find that youre gonna want a line up of Triumph bikes.......wish I had the cash for that.
check out this site too. they are specific for our bikes
I'm already wishing I could add a scrambler to the lineup, but joining the queue will be a divorce lawyer too
Was a tough choice but ended up going for the America and I'm happy as hell.
I'll try and post a picture soon, need to give her a shine first
Has there been a poll on the site on the amount of time you guy's spend cleaning your bikes. Been looking through the gallery and man there are some shiny looking machines out there.
Wohoo, first weekend with my new bike and luvin it. Weather has been pretty crappy though and the wind was howling today, but didn't stop me from riding.
I bought my TBA in April, and now it has 4,300 miles. I smile ear to ear whenever I ride her. Tonight I was riding home and I turned back to my wife and said, "**** I love this bike. Hands down its the best bike I've ever owned." What's really great is she loves it too. Enjoy your ride.
Kem
So glad to see another South African online! At last! I was starting to think I was the only America owner in the country. Not that it would bother me all that much. More ogling for my ride.
When I hopefully take that ride down to Durbs from Jo-eez, we can hook up for a ride out along the North coast?
Weather on the weekends has been pretty crappy though so I haven't ridden as much as I would have liked to. But then again just lookin at it standing in the garage makes me smile.
Anyway, the forcast for this weekend is miserbable again, and when I woke up this morning for work it looked to be shaping up to be a great day. So as the saying goes, Make hay while the sun shines I decided to leave the cage at home at take the bike to work. Been travelling the same stretch of road for 14 years in a cage, so this was a whole new experience
Anyway took a few pics of the bike here at work. I've changed the mirrors (Vmax mirrors) and added a Sissy bar.
Here she is
I've had my 07 TBA (Blue/white) for over 2 months and have been loving it as well. It's my first real bike and I've been using it to get all over town as well as even some nice weekend rides on the weekend. I got caught up in the "Oyster Run" this past weekend. Didn't even know about the run, but noticed a helluva lot of bikers on the ferry to Whidby Island. Most were H-D and they barely acknowledged the beautiful blue/white parallel twin in their midst. A couple of them didn't like the fact that they couldn't lose me at the stoplights either....hehehehe
Anyway, enjoy the heck out of her!! But ride safe.
Went for a quick ride after fitting them and loving it so far. Will get out tomorrow for a long ride so I can get a better feel for them.
Already feels like a different bike though
