Finished up the tail light and made a tray for the electrics. The Ultima replaces the fuse box and relays and will be mounted on the backbone.

Will hold the Antigravity battery and ecu

Got a lot done today. Things are actually progressing relatively smoothly (knock on wood) and the bike is coming together as I hoped.

frame coating:

close up of the texture

Removing the frame was much easier and quicker than I anticipated and soon I was left with this:

going back together:

Ikon shocks and rear wheel mocked in (adjusters got a coat of paint and are drying)

getting there:

seat cover looks like it's going to be a perfect fit.

that's all for today!

It all looks easy until I have to attempt wiring. Modern engineering means that everything bolts together rather smoothly. Messing with wiring on the other hand...

Coming together really nice. I wasn't too into the textured paint at first when you did the test sample but seeing the whole frame completed I really dig it now.

Not much to report today as I hit up bike night at the Ear Inn here in NYC with some of the local guys. Was able to squeeze in a little mod to the lower yoke in preparation for rebuilding the forks tomorrow and installing the tapered bearings. Since I'll be utilizing a mosfet R/R, there was no need to have it mounted on the lower yoke. However, the ungainly mounts had to go

Ground down the bosses then filled the bolt holes with jb weld

And painted

Looking awesome so far! It's great to see a 'backyard' build of this quality.

Very nice! Wish I had time to devote to a project like this. I will just continue to live vicariously through you and keeping an eye on this thread.

Glad to see you have some help too... kept telling myself, "There is no way this guy is single-handedly making this kind of progress!" And then in walked the four-legged helper. LOL!
