I'm in Ottawa visiting my folks, which was the intent of the trip. No new reports until I start back, likely next week as the long weekend holiday will eat up camp sites and clog the roads.

Made it to Blind River for the night in a seedy motel. Had a number of rain showers today so was doing the raingear roadside dance several times. Stopped for fish and chips at a roadside wagon. Seedy motel? One of my favorite places is in Blind River, the Lake View. Nice and clean and family owned, is it seedy now? Maybe you're down the street, I remember a place on the lake side of the road by the boat landing, lots of work trucks staying there.

What's on the docket for tomorrow? 129 up to Chapleau?

Ha! LakeView next one along the road to what I got. It was a toss up and went with the one with several motorbikes parked up. I'm writing this trying to tune out the droning AC and constant running bathtub tap. All while trying not to think about the $120 this place is costing me. Also hoping the dudes in camo pants is saw across the parking cooking on a bbq were not the two wanted murder suspects the mounties are still after.

Will had along Hwy 17 past Sault Ste Marie and along north shore of huron and superior towards Thunder bay. Doubt I'll make it to TB tomorrow as its a long haul.

Cool, that's a better route than going up to Chapleau.

If you go back past Sleeping Giant, and you haven't already, you should try to go down there and find the cantilevered lookout. You walk out on it and there's a mile of air under you. Impressive view. And Ouimet Canyon isn't too far out of the way.

If it's as far as you get, in Nipigon I stayed at the Pine Crest, right by the Tim Horton's. Not fancy but clean enough motorcycle-friendly place. The owner spends his spare time making sculptures with his chain saw out at the end of the building

Weather is getting good, enjoy! I'm a bit jealous, but I'm heading out tomorrow with wife for a few days, so I suppose I shouldn't be

Been out of comms two days. Nothin at camp sites Eh!

I'm finally out of Ontario after four days of hard riding. Spent lastnight at Sleeping Giant provincial park on lake superior. Quite a superb park indeed.

That last shot is from this morning at end of Thunder Bay Trail on my way out of park. I'm on the very scary cantilevered platform overhanging this massive cliff edge as mentioned by Mr. BonnieBlack earlier. Likely a 500 ft drop.

Day before I stopped in at a petroglyph trail and took a few shots. To get to the petroglyphs you need to negotiate some pretty slippery angled rocks along the shoreline. I only had enough courage to get to the first set.

Saw this guy trying to mate with the bonne when I got back.

The Steve McQueen has been performing extremely well. Not eating any oil and Shinko 705 rubber doing great after 6k KMs. Developing a creaky squeak from front shocks likely needs new bushes. Getting lots of attention at fuel and food stops. Had two blokes wanting photos of it today within an hour.
