White mag wheel version question

This is just a curiosity thing. But did you buy one of the white mag wheel versions? And if so, did you leave it standard or mod the colour?
I find that the bike looks a bit strange. I recall reading that the mag wheel bike was a homage to the T140. And while the spoke wheel bikes could get away with white (never seen one though), i just think the white on the mag wheel looks out of place. Go figure that one out.

Me personally, if owning an alloy wheeled bonny...below is the direction I would take it. I like the tank white...maybe with a Thruxton racing stripe on it...but I would follow the café cues that LSL created...close to the letter. One of the nicest bonnevilles I have seen and quite honestly a bike I personally prefer to the new Street Twin which has a great look to it...but below bike can be created for less money and of course has 20+ more hp on tap with basic tuning.

PS: Speaking of above..note the black side covers, alloy fenders and black powercoated wheels. I believe the issue you may have with white from the factory is...just too much quantity of white..

Also included a pic of my modded '09 T100. Note the stark contrast in aesthetic. These bikes can be taken in many directions and I like different versions...easy to create what you prefer:

I think you are on to something there, that side panel. Your right, it does seem to be too much. And the cafe racer look works well. I would be quite happy to stare at that for some time.

@plodalong. That looks good anyway, cos its a spoke wheel.

I got a white wire wheel model because it was right place, time and price. Would have been my last choice of colour but its grown on me. PO had fitted white sidecovers which I didn't like, but bike came with the origional covers as well.
Among other things I've done to it was a Helicopter tape racing stripe on the tank.

I had to convince my friend to get a white one and a few years later he came around. Now we sold that to another friend who appreciates it even more.
I think Triumph only made the white ones for 2-3 years. And out of the 40 000 bikes or so a year they sold, 50% of them were Bonnevilles, making maybe 3000-4000 of them were white mag wheels. (all guesstimates) you would have to think the white is a rare commodity. Once you accessorize it with just enough black I think it looks class bad ass. Couldn't decide on knee pads in the end.
One I "built" up
