Rider Danell Lynn has set a new Guinness World Record for “Longest journey by motorcycle in a single country.” Traveling for a year on her Triumph Bonneville equipped with Giant Loop gear, Lynn covered 48,600 miles while riding throughout the contiguous 48 states of the United States of America. Lynn is the first solo woman motorcyclist to hold the record.
Although her travels covered all 50 states, as well as three Canadian provinces, and totaled more than 53,000 miles from September 2014 through September 2015, Guinness only counted the miles logged within the continental 48 states. Duplicate miles also did not apply to the record and each of the 48,600 miles covered different routes.

The fairing is probably a National Cycle Plexifairing 3, which National doesn't make for a Bonneville; they make the Plexifairing GT, which is what I have on my T100. I was tempted to order the "3" and take a shot at making it fit, but passed on the idea. The "GT" is a couple of inches shorter and a bit more aerodynamic IMHO.

I am impressed at her venture. Not because she is a she or that she rode a Bonny but simply because of the physical toll it takes to ride 50-60k miles a year on any bike cross country.

Dog's Bonnyville, Rosie lives on in my garage with just shy of 60k on her. She still runs
fantastically well and is ridden by visitors and friends.

My admiration comes from watch Dog put those miles on in just 10 months, two weeks. Coming from a 1972 junker, riding on the wrong side of the road Dog learned to ride hard and far. This young lady and others who do huge milage each year are in a very different league than those of us who putt around 15-30k miles a year.

Many a member here on this forum has poo pooed long distance riders in the past as being irrelevant to motorcycling. They should try once in their lives to do what this gal and others like her have done.
