All machines have issues. The Thunderbird has been known for a few, but they are relitively minor. If the rear wheel is not properly alligned the belt will squeal. I can tell you from experience that this is really annoying, but it is an easy fix. Some have had minor coolant leaks. I had this as well, but it was as simple as replacing a couple of hose clamps. The worst issue I've heard of is the compression release mechanisms breaking. These are on the end of the cams, and release cylinder pressure when you start the bike. There are posts on here about the issue. Still this can be fixed if it happens, and the warranty will cover it. Beyond that the bike is pretty bullet proof, rides like it is on rails, and really hauls a$$. You would be hard pressed to find an owner who doesn't love his Thunderbird.
