Hi guys. Visiting from the Sport side of the forum. I read (almost) every word on this thread, and just to throw my 2 cents in:

ABS should never be and never was meant to replace practiced safe stopping habits. It should be viewed as a safety net, there to catch you when you fall.

I do not have ABS on my bikes. Wanted it but no bikes w/ABS were available locally when I bought the Sprint.

The cost wasn't/isn't an issue. If I used ABS just ONE time during a "situation" it just saved me 3x its cost.

As far as mandating ABS. Seriously? Don't we have the Government in enough of our business already. Make your own choices, and take your lumps when your wrong.

OK. I will step down from my soapbox now. Carry on.
