My dealer is 800km away so what i do check the weather hope/pray for a good couple of days, (at least 3, 1 up 1 service 1 back) and only ride in daylight because of the wildlife on country roads (roos etc) . I try and do at least 3/4 of a tank first up while i'am fresh before i stop, fuel up, have a rest, then i pretty much let my back side dictate when i stop from then on. If you haven't got a screen you will find the wind knocks the sh1t out of you if you are doing mostly high speeds ( i got one on my last trip back) so be aware of that , make sure you are warm and dry in case the prayer didn't work and wear ear plugs to cut out the wind noise that will drive you nuts after a while!
