I recently bought a new 2009 Street Triple as i got sick of commuting on my 09' R6. The R6 was a great bike and i absolutely loved it, but it just wasn't street friendly and my back hated it commuting around 500kms a week.
So i decided to get a Street Triple as i have always loved the look of them and the sound! After test riding one at the dealer I put down a deposit for one straight away
Absolutely awesome bike to ride and has torque everywhere! Unlike the R6 where all the power comes on at around 10,000rpm, at that rpm you were pretty much breaking any speed limits as it is lol.
So I ordered a White Street Triple which so happened to be the last white one the Triumph Rep could find. They had to buy it from a Gladstone dealer and transport it to Brisbane for me.
It hasn't been smooth sailing and after today i hope the smooth sailing begins. The Regulator/Rectifier was stuffed so it was overcharging the battery and it killed two batteries in 5 days!! The first time was while I was hitting the twisties with a group of mates and was 100kms from home, had to push start it everywhere i stopped....eventually the bike cut out completely when i was on the way to the dealer. As it was the weekend they replaced the battery and the charging system seemed fine. Now this morning the bike wouldn't start again, not even push start, so jumped the battery and the dealer had a thorough look at it this time (as the actual mechanic was there now) and it was over charging. So i took a loan bike and let them play around with it. Now with another battery and new reg/rectifier i'm back on the road again....
