So I got my Jet Black T120 this week and have been breaking in the motor all weekend. Most fun I have had in ages sticking to the twisty side roads. Anyway, I ordered some accessories today. I have decided to chrome out the engine as I loved the look on my 06 T100. I ordered the engine covers, sprocket covers, and inspection covers in chrome. My plan is to install them at the first service which I anticipate will be in two weeks at best with the kilometers I am racking up. I also ordered a new brake reservoir cover and the top clamp fro the handlebar. Thought about the chrome chain guard, but, I think that area will be a pain to keep clean so I will skip it for now and look at it down the road. The only other things I plan to add are the bar end mirrors and a fly screen. Still deciding between the Marlin or the Classic. I will update this thread so people can get a look at a few accessories.

So here are some pics of my modifications so far. I added chrome side covers and inspection plates as well as the chrome throttle body covers. I like the look of the chrome as it reminds me of the polished aluminum cases of the old Bonnevilles. I also added the machined handlebar top clamp and the brake reservoir top. Lastly I added the Dart Classic wind screen in a light tint. The only thing left on my urgent list for this summer is some better looking mirrors. I haven't found the right ones yet, but, I am sure they are out there. I am not going to mess around with the exhaust until the warranty period is up just in case.

That looks REALLY elegant!
You should look into the Triumph LED Conversion Kit (A9838032).
This way you can keep the stock chrome blinker housings to go with your chrome theme. And just eliminate the orange plastic lenses for the clear-white'ish ones... (Plus have LED instead of bulbs.)
If you are curious, here is a link for you to click to another thread on here where another member goes into some detail about this kit he put on his T120. With decent pictures as well. Cheers.

Ps... You're right by Oak Island! Woo-Hoo! (Love that show!)

Not too far from Oak Island. The last pic was taken in Peggy's Cove. I never gave any thought to the lens covers, I kind of agree with the other post in that the add to the retro feel of the originals Bonnie's.

What did you do with the brushed aluminum covers that it came with? Want to sell them?

It's hard to beat black and chrome.:thumb I had the same concern about the chrome chain guard but I use chain wax on the chain and I remove the guard when I clean and lube (wax?) the chain. It's not the hassle I thought it was going to be to keep it clean.

correct the amber "memory of oldies" for lights, but now in the original spare parts of Triumph there are transparent covers with orange bulbs ( I got them) for a chrome bike they seems to me perfect. Have a look on bar end Triumph in chrome version, nice!
I do not like for classic bikes the mini bullets lights, too modern, but it is my personal taste!

I was thinking about chroming my T120 out like this too. At first I didn't love the T120's stock brushed look, but after a while it has grown on me. My 1999 Triumph Adventurer was completely chromed out and it looked awesome (as does your T120). I love chrome. I never priced out how much it would cost me to do the T120 though ... I bet it wasn't cheap.

For the 5 pieces I needed, engine covers, sprocket covers, the two inspection plates, and the throttle body covers came to $875 plus tax in Canada. The same 5 pieces will cost you $710 plus tax in the US. The engine covers come with new gaskets, but you have to reuse the isolator rubbers from your old sprocket cover and the badge from your alternator cover. I peeled mine away easily using a credit card and reapplied it to the new one. I am on the fence about adding the chrome chain guard. Not sure I want to draw attention to the chain guard by making it shiny.

My Adventurer had a chrome chain guard. When it was clean, it looked awesome. Keeping it clean was an issue. I guess it depends on how much you like cleaning your bike, or how comfortable you are with a dirty chain guard. Based on my experience, *IF* I chromed out my T120, I wouldn't do the chain guard. I like having the flat black there that doesn't have to be clean.
