T120 Seat

Can somebody tell me the difference between the standard seat and the aftermarket comfort seat? Does the comfort seat have that hard rise-up to the passenger area? I find that very uncomfortable.

I am not sure what you mean by "Does the comfort seat have that hard rise-up to the passenger area?"

I have posted a pic of my Comfort seat from Triumph. I hope seeing the seat from the side shows what you are concerned about.

The comfort seat is more comfortable but it's definitely not worth an additional $375. It's difficult to pick out a new seat when you cannot test them out before purchasing. Just my opinion. I have about 2000 miles on my comfort seat.

I've got both standard and comfort seats. The comfort does have 'that hard rise-up'; it's part of the moulded seat base and is, to my eyes, the same on the comfort seat as it is on the standard. And the comfort is more convex than the standard which made me - more uncomfortable.

I've gone to an airhawk and, to double up, a sheepskin over the top on the standard seat. Overkill maybe but it sure made two-in-a-row 500km (300ml) days bearable... Being 6'2" reach to ground isn't an issue.

Try before buy next time.

And selling the comfort seat soon...

There's also a King & Queen seat now available for the T120, but it has an even more pronounced step. I haven't tried this seat, but am curious about it.

Ditto for me, have a few thousand miles on the comfort seat, a little better than stock, still not worth the extra $. No hard rise like the stock T120 seat.

I found the AirHawk not worth anything, which wasn't my expectation - tested several models out, ran air pressure from nothing to very slight air pressure and a little more, waste of time & money to me (I shipped them back for refunds). Have tried my sheepskin over my comfort seat, only modestly more comfortable.

So in the "end" everyone's results will be slightly different, just like oil and tire threads, opinions just like a$$h***s, everyone has one, YMMV... Still riding with the comfort seat though...

Here in Thailand there is a seat guru on every street corner and a simple matter to have it re-foamed as you prefer.
Works as well as you might expect, and can have it done your way very reasonably

I am going to have a medical gel pad inserted under the stock cover this time around as my mate here swears by his seat with such a mod. What held me back until now is a concern that in this heat it would cook the boys but apparently not....

There are suppliers world wide and this UK one pitching it to riders:

https://www.danmedicasouth.co.uk/motorcycle-seat-pads/

http://www.ebay.com/itm/DIY-GEL-PAD-...08Wybw&vxp=mtr

Cut to fit and should be easy enough do do yourself if you are so inclined
