I'm pretty committed to finding a used Street Twin, hopefully by spring.
This is the best deal I've found so far....

I'd have to have it shipped, at least a few hundred for that. Not sure if I should make the move or hold out for something local to show up.

The few that have showed up local have all been $8000, and all have sold, so that must be a realistic number at the moment.

Prices can be all over the place. IMO, $8000, even though they sold is too high. Don't forget that you see it advertised for $8K and then it's sold, but you don't really know what it sold for. I just looked at a 2015 Bonneville T100 in NJ with just a couple hundred miles with a couple of options installed, a really gorgeous gold color, and it had a price tag of $7900 hanging on it. The dealer had it online for $6900. I visited the dealership and he came down to $6500 and would not go any lower. I think that was a fair price for it.

Believe it or not I just bought TWO 2014 mag wheel Bonnevilles. (Why two? Well, I'm going to keep them 175 miles apart at my two residences) I know my examples are 2014s and the one you point out is a 2016. One had 5,000 miles and I paid $5750 OTD price, no tax.
The other had 464 miles and every bit of 2K in genuine Triumph options (seat, windshield, backrest, saddle bags) and I paid $5500 OTD.

My advice is to be patient, something locally will turn up, but since you want a Street Twin specifically, that will mean there will be fewer choices.

I'm also looking for a used Street Twin, preferably from a private owner for a lower price than a dealer and less taxes, and am willing to fly from Chicago to anywhere east of Denver all the way to the east coast to buy one and take a joyride back. I work for an airline and will use my flight benefits, I've done this before.

Be patient. These are still relatively new machines...it'll take a couple years for the posers to grow weary of their impulse buy. At that point they'll be 4 years old and have 2,000 miles or so on the odo. Otherwise, you'll pay 1.5 times as much as you would by waiting. Given the newness of the machine and its popularity, anything under $8K is a decent deal at this moment in time...
