Solution for mounting a phone - Ram Mount Motorcycle Handlebar Clamp Base - will do the same as in this thread. Since I will have the fairing, installing on the bar clamp is not an option. I will have to drill the steering head nut and install it there... Just in case, a new is upper yoke nut is cheap Part Number T2049880. I will get one, drill it and install this in the center to see how it works out. Or go with the solution from Triumph Phone Holder Kit Yoke - Part Number A9510324
Planned mods:
Triumph RESERVOIR, FRONT, MACHINED, Part Number A9628041
SW-MOTECH Blaze Sport Saddlebag System - thanks to the feedback of the forum, I cancelled the Triumph bags and will order these instead. Twisted Throttle
Euro Spec LH Control - Part Number T2041822 - For same daylight running light setup as Europe
Euro Spec Headlight with DLR - Part Number T2706522 - For same daylight running light setup as Europe
I pick it up on Saturday. :wink2: Used to have a local dealer a few minutes away, Magic Cycles, but they dropped the brand. So had to buy it in Tampa (2 hours away) and can't go pick it up until Saturday. Everything is done and Mark (Sales guy @ Triumph of Tampa) is following up with the parts department to make sure all parts are available for pick up when I get the bike.
I am doing the install of the parts... so all boxes go in the car and wife drives the car back while I ride the motorcycle. It will be a nice break-in ride home.
Which reminds me... need to get a few oil and air filters while I am at the dealer...and see if a workshop manual is already available to purchase.
Fellow forum member @Tx_Thruxton, has them and he mentioned these working on the TTR. He was able to install them under the seat. Leaving stock seat with cowl in place.
I ended up going with the SW-Motech Blaze due to the ability to remove everything quickly when needed. They fit well and you can run the strap under our seats for a little more security. Have not rode with them yet but they seem very sturdy. Love the included waterproof liners and expansion joint.
I have the 5c, the case has elastic/velcro straps and a foam pad which hold the phone in place and up against the clear window. I assume the larger 140x90mm phone holder which you will need for the iPhone 7 will have the same set up.
Not sure if that one has the cable port on the short edge as well as the long edge shown in the image in the Triumph website. You might need to check that if you want to charge the phone. I'm not really familiar with that phone.
I can say that the one i have is really great quality though and the metal mount looks pretty trick as fas as phone holders go.
Brilliant. You are da man! I've been using a backpack and while it's ok, I feel kina dorky like a kid. Thanks again for the info
Would you mind posting a pic with it removed? I'd like to see what the bracket looks like. I'm going to need something to get groceries with, but I definitely don't want to ride around with bags when not absolutely necessary.
One more question TX, you ordered the one for the Thruxton ( no R subsection) and the mounting the lower bar for the bags just attach to the subframe triangle that supports the muffler correct?
Yeah it is the same set for all the new modern classics.
They mount to the the same hole as the muffler bracket/passenger peg. (Pro tip, put them on while doing the pegs so you only have to assemble the pegs once...) The chain side has a space and includes an extra long bolt to accommodate it.
Fun fact: I compressed my cold weather mummy sleeping bag into one of the expanded saddle bags and there is still a little room. :grin2:
Thanks for posting that Tx. I've been pondering how to turn this bike into a minimalist sport tourer and the SW is the slickest set up I've seen so far. I'm thinking I'll just take the cowl off when touring and add a tail bag. Give up some cool factor (and not have to worry about scratches) in exchange for a little more storage space. I've learned from experience on tours if you're so tight for space it's like solving a puzzle every time you pack your gear, it can get tedious.
Good news, you were right, they will deliver with pigtail installed. Bad news, well...
Jaime,
Fuel tank subharness is the part under recall...will be unable to deliver bike until recall is done. My service manager will update me soon when part will arrive and have an eta when bike can be delivered... Sorry for the delay. Possibly 2 weeks....hopefully before Thanksgiving
Thanks,
Mark

Jaime,
Fuel tank subharness will need to be replaced...claim has been submitted to Triumph for part and replacement. Waiting on confirmation when part will arrive. We can install pigtail.
Thanks,
Mark
You have outstanding recalls: RECALL RM2016 018 SB541
Summary
The fuel pump sub harness may allow fuel to drain from the fuel tank into the connection joint between the sub harness and main harness.
Consequence
Fuel can travel down the exposed wiring toward the sub harness to main harness connector joint. In the event of an electrical short, there is a risk of fire.
Remedy
Triumph will notify owners and replace the fuel pump sub harness free of charge.
Looks like I ordered the wrong size ball mount for the phone holder that I have... the holder works with 17mm ball mount... not a 25mm (1") mount... oh well, serves me right for not checking before ordering. I will keep it in case I have a need for it... along with the rest of the ram stuff I have...
Order placed on the LED Front and Rear turn signals from the UK... Same vendor here is a link to one of the listings: eBay listing
Order placed with BikeBandit for Triumph Phone Holder Kit Yoke - Part Number A9510324, oil filters, and crush washers (T3558989)...
I had forgotten that I gave the T-Rex stands to a friend... not going to ask for them back. He has a bike on it that he is trying to bring back to life... so I went to the local Harbor Freight and got their Low Profile Rear Spool Motorcycle Stand... not bad for 31.99 with a 20% discount...
Also, got all the bits together for when I pick up the bike... Tag, epass, check list with all parts that are supposed to be included with the deal.
Holding off from ordering the helmet lock to see if someone else takes the plunge and confirms if it fits our bikes :grin2:
And just for fun, ordered a few decals to put on the stand... :smile2:
No!!! Slim S stays in the garage to fight another day. :smile2: I was just out riding it. Took it in for an open recall it had (clutch master cylinder).
I really like the way this mount works with the top yoke. When you remove the iPhone holder with the 4 screws I wonder if a standard 2.25" x 3" Techmount rectangular plate that has a 4 hole AMPS pattern will work with the same screw holes--that's what I use to mount my radar detectors on my other bikes. Also will the mount rotate forward enough for the radar detector to be parallel to the ground?
Thanks for the information. Unfortunately the standard AMPS pattern on my Techmount plate is 30mm x 38mm but I could drill some new holes to fit those dimensions. I really like that mount.

I keep looking for stuff that I can get for the bike... cool things... figured I would look for another silver color to add to it... since the bike has so many shades of it already :grin2:

Found a keychain that I will give a try. There were a lot of cool looking ones, but they had metal parts to it and I am just trying to find something that would look good without scratching the triple tree:
I just messaged if he could make one with these Triumph logos, as his site didn't show anything Triumph. I had to send him pics of what I wanted and he made it.
One more question if you would--what is the clear dimension of the slot in the stem (part no. 3 on the installation diagram) that the mount fits into? I have a Techmount arm and plate that looks like it might fit there.
