Looks like Triumph's introducing something in the UK on Oct 19. Might be new Street Triples, but I'm hoping for the new Bonnevilles. So far only the UK social media pages are posting stuff. Here's their instagram post.
Well if the picture is supposed to be a teaser, it is definitely either the Bobber, Street Cup, T100, or all three. They should all have the chrome bezel, except the T100 black.
Hoping for the Bonnie variants. They've already put out pics and a press release about the new Street Triples. Seems odd to announce them and then wait 3-4 weeks to reveal them. On the other hand, this date is right before EICMA, so it would be cool to release them, then show them off at EICMA.
Looks like the bobber from the similarity between the exhaust pipe and the bobbers in the spy pics...
Spoiled for choice now and I have to pick one of the Bonnies - street twin, t100 water cooled or the street cup and now the possible bobber
Bonnefication on Faceplant, believes it's the Bobber. Would be nice if it were. The Bobber is the only new Triumph I've been waiting to see before I pull a trigger......
Just guessing like everyone else , I would say it's either the bobber or cruiser with where the exhaust is but I would speculate further as they are advertising it as brutal etc I am gonna say it's based on the 1200 cc thruxton engine
If you go to the MCN website you can win tickets to the launch night on October 19th at the Surrey Quays in London. Very interesting as there will be Drag racing all night with it. "Brutal Beauty" so it dosent sound like a Bobber, almost certainly a Twin but a Powerful Twin hence the Drag Racing? Time will tell. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/2016/october/win-tickets-to-triumph-launch-party/
"Brutal" to me means Rocket 3.... with Guy Martin about to (hopefully) get a land speed record with a double-R3 beast are Triumph going to to capitalise on this? Or why spend so much dosh?
But a hot scrambler Thruxton 1200 with high bars and alloy wheels would be nice...all this McQueen image stuff Triumph have been pushing and yet we all know what the man would have done with a 1200 Thrux!
Any particular reason for not wanting the bobber? I haven't seen it but was quite looking forward to it as where I live majorly modified bikes are not given road licenses and was looking forward to the factory custom.
Not seeing a lot of bobber love on this forum for whatever reason. I think it's going to be great, and If I haven't purchased a Street Twin by then (which I'm in the process of making happen), I may be very tempted by the bobber.
It's a love it or hate it aesthetic I guess. I consider all my motorcycles to be single occupancy vehicles, so I have no issue with a single seat bike.
I think the real make it or break it issue on this bike is going to be how well they integrated the rear mono-shock on a bike that is traditionally a hardtail. Based on how well designed all these new 2017's are I'm guessing they knocked it out of the ball park on the bobber as well.
I, for one, am excited.
I'm personally very excited for the bobber. Been waiting for a retro themed cruiser from Triumph and if they're putting the Thruxton's high torque 1200 in it, I'm sold.
I think the Bobber idea is pretty cool, although I would think that Bobbers are more popular amongst the custom scene so a slight moot point to sell one stock. That said, I would rather they showcase a Scrambler, hopefully a bit more refined than the spy shots.
I think it will end up being a nice looking bike for what it is, just no interest in such a thing. The spy photos looked like crap but I bet they cleaned it up nicely.
