Anybody take a pillion on a Thrux?

I double on my Bonnie very rarely but it's nice to be able to when I feel like it. I'd love to be able to keep the Bonnie just for that but will probably have to sell it and then, very rarely, carry a pillion on the Thrux I'm planning to buy. I realize you have to buy passenger pegs, and probably a different saddle if you actually care about your pillion's comfort (which I don't, really... :grin2:) but has anybody done any two up riding on a Thrux and if so, how was it? I guess I should ask, how was it for both of you? Like, did she fall off?

Doesn't bother me unless we stop hard, then some readjustment is required. My wife actually likes it, but I did buy a belt with handles for her to hold onto. My other bikes have always had trunks or backrests. The two up Triumph comfort seat's passenger area kinda slopes backwards too.

It can be disconcerting and confidence un-inspiring for the pillion to be sliding backwards, I'm told. The things they whine about.

I take my wife on the back of the Thrux fairly regularly, we have the duel comfort seat for when she joins me.

She said she much prefers it to my old T100 Bonneville because the seat is comfier, the suspension is way better, it's smoother regarding power delivery and she sits slightly higher up compared to me so can see whats going on easer without having to tilt her head to one side all the time.
That's encouraging.

Do any of you good fellows have pics of this comfort seat you speak of? Andy you mentioned your wife being able to see easier. How's her legroom? Is it a typical hilarious looking sport bike pillion configuration? Does the pillion have to be a 5 foot, 90 lb gymnast to be comfortable on the back of a Thrux?

Bear in mind I'm talking short, scenic pleasure cruises. An hour or two in the saddle then it's time for drinks. She always seems to be ready for one when she gets off.

Steve, you are, if nothing else..., SOOO predictable! :D

You DO "man up" though! ;)

Do you guys adjust the rear suspension for pillion-carrying?
Isn't it stiff enough for you already? ;)

Non-damaging bumping up the preload is a major project BTW, not practical just to do for an occasional ride.

Son needed his bumped. Dealer used one Ohlins tool, another tool and a spring compressor.

Just ride slower with "her" on the back? :D

This is the seat we use on my bike

At first I wasn't so sure if it was actually more comfortable after riding with the standard seat for a long time I do notice a difference when I swap them over.

Legroom is fine, possibly slightly more cramped than the Bonny but not at all an issue. Certainly not as comical as the sports bike pillion position.

I'm 5'8 and have the lower clipons so I do sit leaning more forward than with the standards. The missus is 5'6.

Peter Stevens Australia are hopeless.

They are not able to supply many accessories ex stock for the new R.

I have fitted the rear pegs but god only knows when I'll receive the dual seat.

Hopefully before summer ends......
Will let you know then Steve.

I asked them for a list of the accessories they have but they want me to email them a list of my requirements ... Jeez.
