interested to see how many T120 owners have scraped the pegs riding the bike. I see it all the time in reviews but not sure if that is just hype or a real common occurrence.
if so has anyone tried the ST pegs instead for the 1" lift?
Yep, me too...I Tried a Thruxton R last week and the pegs are too lifted for our T120, it should replace every items... Probably it's enough take away the bolts under them....
Every T120 review I saw or read mentioned scraping the pegs at higher lean angles. I have yet to scrape a peg.
I measured the angle from the bottom of the peg to the tire center lines as compared to the horizontal. Lean would need to be some angle greater than 45 degrees for a peg to touch down.
My own "safety strips" are about 1/2" wide at this point and I'm doing all the leaning I want.
Installing the higher ST pegs would also require adjustments to the gear shift and rear brake levers. There's very little adjustment available on the brake lever. The locations of the pivot points on these levers cannot be changed.
I just ran the pre-load up a couple of notches on the rear shocks. That's about all the adjusting I'm going to do.

Keep in mind that the suspension will be compressed quite a bit as the bike leans over. 45 is quite a lot of lean angle, and the reviews would not be talking about easily scraping pegs if that much were available.
The Thruxton R has 50 degrees of lean angle available, according to Superbike Magazine. I've leaned over further than ever before with my Thruxton, and I still have a 3/4" safety strip on the back tire.
it was in a review that they said the triumph people said the pegs could be swapped out for the ST pegs. I imagine the levers could be pulled off the cogs and rotated to work with he ST pegs. The lean angles that show scraping in the vids do look pretty high. Made me wonder how often real owners see that issue
I didn't test ride the T120 but on the ST test the pegs touched done very easily, it was one of the reasons for going for the Thrux instead. Then again its horses for courses I guess.
Scrapping as well here when riding int he canyons. At first I was a bit nervous but now am expecting it. Not sure if it's alright long term...might have to spend some mula on replacement pegs.
is is common or rare for your riding? have you considered the higher ST foot pegs. That's one of the few hold backs I have coming from sport bikes but I think I will be riding a little different. Or maybe not...
Sounds like you have to be getting after it on a flat non banked road to scrape. I heard about the ST pegs from an Youtube review stating that Triumph folks said they where swap able for the extra clearance
I haven't scraped a peg yet. I have caught my left foot scraping because I ride with my toe under the shifter. Scared the stuff out of me the first time. Trying to remember to keep my foot on top when not shifting.
