Is anyone else having trouble with their ride mode? I am unable to change ride modes. I live about 90 minutes from the dealership and when I finally got home and went for a ride, the ride mode would not work. I've called the dealership and they walked me through the procedure to change ride modes, but my T120 will not switch from road mode. Since I live so far away, the dealership suggested I wait until the 1st service to have the mode selector repaired. I was curious if anyone else had the same issue.
I have not had any troubles with the ride modes on mine, I know it must be frustrating that something is not working and should be remedied , but if you can only get road mode be thankful because rain mode is awful and once you have tried it I don't think you will ever use it again
I'll give a computer reboot a try. Thanks for the feedback. I've read about the rain mode being less desirable and will probably agree 100%; just a little frustrated it wasn't working on a new bike. Other than a few minor worries, I still love the bike. It's my first Triumph so I'm sure there is a learning curve to go along with owning a new model. I appreciate everyone's comments and advise!!
I wonder if this is something that the aftermarket could correct with a tune or with a piggy back device. Maybe the people who provide tune ecu will have some sort of fix once the ecu is cracked?
Not sure if it helps, but they are changed when the mc is stand still, i mean they are not changed on the fly, i tested yes'day, when in motion the mode didn't change, but when halted it changed in a sec
Did you work with Brandon or Sean? I was there a few weeks ago and they had a matte graphite t120 black (the other color I like) that was sold already. If that was your bike, congratulations! :grin2:
I noticed it had a slight accumulation of oil near the drain plug when I was looking it over. He (Brandon) got something to wipe it off and said he was going to keep an eye on it. Hopefully nothing major became of it!
Wanted to give an update on the ride mode button. I first reported the issue to the dealership a couple of days after I brought the bike home. It was agreed the mode selector could wait until the 1st service was performed. 1st service was performed on 6/3 and they determined the mode button will need to be replaced. I'm a little frustrated as I now have to reschedule another service visit to replace the faulty button that must be ordered. I understand this is probably not a part they routinely keep on the shelves, but it's not like they didn't know there was a high probability the button was faulty based on our phone conversations. The dealership is around 100 miles away....
Try the rain mode before dismissing it. On the Thruxton it is great for city riding, really smoothes the throttle out when stop starting all the time and delivers just as much power as the other modes.
