1968 T100C timing cover

When removing the timing cover, do you need to remove the contact breaker assembly or can you simply remove the 8 pozidrive screws?

Yep, it'll have to come off. Seems they should slide right out. But
they don't. Bit of a trick to it.

yes - points and auto advance must be removed

Yes. The timing cover has a well or recess where the points and auto-advance unit are mounted and the cover will not come off until they are removed.

You can remove the points and whatnot with by unscrewing it them from the plate and the auto-advance can be knocked off its taper with a modest side-blow from a hammer (after its securing bolt is removed)
