Throttle cable help

I put a new Sudco (Mikuni)carburetor on my 1970 Triumph Tiger. It seems the throttle cable is now a tad short. Anybody have any suggestions as to the length that I need versus the original? I had this problem on my 74 Bultaco, but I had a little room to modify the lever end. I don't think that will work on this bike. Thanks.

In the old days we made our own.

Try re-routing the cable to gain more slack. Have the cable come out from under the tank and go straight to the twist grip. Avoid the loop around the headlamp ears.
