Smile T120R primary chaincase cover

Does anybody know if there is a difference between the 1970 bonny primary chaincase cover and the 1972 cover. I have a couple of small cracks in mine and a small dent so I'm considering new but the company say its for a 120R up to 1970. I'm also told that a freind of a freind could alumininium weld it but I'm a bit sceptical of that. Another alternative, I beleive, is to fit a 140 cover and plug off the gearchange hole, is this true.

Thanks

Depending how bad it is, it's entirely possible to repair. See mine here
it had a huge ugly dent where the foot peg whacked it repetedly.
I just took a propane to it and knocked it back out. While it's not
a flawless fix, can you find it?
The cracks can be sealed with JB weld or like me I used HTS-2000
and "Brazed" them with propane. Great stuff that.
