Changing piston rings T120R ( Video)
Hi all my running and repair saga continue
after I changed the oil pump, she started to burn oil,
no surprise there!
So I set too, to change the rings, job done now she runs like a train and did not use a drop of oil in a 200 mile round trip
the first bit, the strip down,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFcl-bYbSTw
Second bit, preparation of bores and rings.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJqMdZ2IB7s
Third bit, nearly all of back together.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_BAhQK-cT0
fourth bit, I haven't made it yet
thanks for watching, happy fixing!

Keep up the fine work.
I think we're geting close to a point where anyone can just download all you videos, transfer them to a DVD, and have thier own step-by-step overhaul!

Thanks GrandPaulZ,
I could do with another bike to do! as mines almost done,
until the big strip-down, pending pennies.
I'm just pleased people are finding them handy.
If I could I would be giving a hand in the shed, this is the next best way
No need to download, just log on to TriumphRat,
a supa doopa site!

I'm sure you will think of something
Time to ask the TV companies for a sponsorship, something like "A bike is born" but better with no cheating!
That way you get a new old bike for free

Thanks
Hi Plewsy,
Thanks for the vid, I fitted my cylinder today and your tip with the strip of wood works really well (I used some thick cardboard) Made my life nice and easy to compress the rings by hand and lower the cylinder in place.
Doe's the Triumph RAT forum have an award for services, a bit like an OBE, MBE, Knighthood etc. ? If so you deserve one!
Stand up Sir Plewsy

 Cheers Webby, Sir Plewsy eh!
I already have ma steed.
Bits of wood and stuff, make a good third hand,
as I more often than not work on my own.
That clapper board thing works a treat everyone should have one "ring compressors optional!"
