Making a primary chaincase gasket (VIDEO)

I've just fitted a clutch to my Bonnie, in doing so I snapped the gasket
Not to worry out came the cardboard and I made another
Most gaskets can be made like this, it does take time to do, but there's something about making good one

Thanks rowntree,
I have used all sorts of stuff for gaskets, depending on the application,
the Fosters box is by far the tastiest

excellent video thanks for posting this stuff! Just made a primary gasket for my 73 bonnie when I tensioned the chain and figured out a nice little tip for cutting the bolt holes if you dont have a tool handy. A piece of copper water line would probably work great but I used an old socket, gridded the edge down until it was sharp. a quick pop with a hammer and a nail to pop the disc out and you get nice round clean bolt holes.

Hi taxadvice,
I Have a boxful of bent spanners, ground sockets, bent bit of wire and all sorts of home made tools, for them hard to reach places.
Making them is half the fun
Oh and plenty of Fosters boxes

Even though the internet has ruined everything, the upsides are so great! Imagine the wasted money and "waiting-for-a-gasket" lost days invested in doing things the correct, expensive way! Bless you and your videos for spreading the word on home fixes. At some point you gotta make a video for the beer-can exhaust shim! Keep it up friend!
