lapping valves.

Just a thing I do when lapping valves. After putting a thin layer of the lapping compound on the seat and installing the valve in the guide, I push a short (about 6"-8"), snug fitting piece of tubing over the valve stem. With the head clamped in a vise, I grasp the tubing between my palms and rub my hands back and forth spinning the tube and valve. Seems to work better than the suction cups thingy.

Yeah, once the suction cups get a bit of compound on them, or the combustion face of the valve, they don't stick and need to be cleaned (again).
