Tire pressures.
I know better & I have done this before. So no lectures. But I don't check my tire pressures very often. But I finally did check my tire pressures last week. They were 30 PSI front & rear. So I aired then up to 35 PSI. Worlds of difference. I have noticed that before but I had forgotten that. I guess the side walls stiffen some. So I thought if a little does a little bit of good ,then alot will do a whole lot of good. And as how we are starting to put nitrogen in car tires at work then I must have nitrogen for Bonnie too. I evacuated the tubes with my a/c vacuum pump then refilled them to 50 PSI with pure nitrogen. After letting everything set I lowered them to 40 PSI. I love the handling now. I don't think the nitrogen will do much. Except the pressures aren't suppose to change as much with temperature. After a 100 mile dinner ride last night I checked them & they are both at 39. So go outside right now & check your tires. You know who you are. Don't wait for morning. (It is Sunday night here) Bob.

You run front and rear at 40psi? I do check mine at least weekly. I have a compressor in the garage, so no excuse. I also had my gauge checked and found it was -3lbs indicating, so I've adjusted for that as well.

for some reason i am thinking the haynes manual states 38psi for the rear and 33psi for the front, but i am too lazy to walk across the room to clarify. i am guessing over-inflating your tires is just as dangerous as letting them run dangerously low.
i keep a tire gauge in the inside pocket of my hawk jacket and heck them everytime i fill-up with fuel.

Yeah I will probably let them down to around 35. I am not running the tires that came on it so the factory specs mean very little. I am on my 3rd. set of tires in 20,000 miles. I should check them more often but with nitrogen it isn't supposed to change as fast. Leak as fast I mean. I figured what's the difference between 35 psi & 40 psi? All I could come up with was 5 psi. (40-35=5) Just so I don't go over the tire maximum anything I do is safe. Plus they would have allowed some room for error. And I do err. The front tire shows 570 lb. @ 41 PSI. Dunlops. Bob.

Pressures
My tires leak 4 lbs/ mo like clockwork! I let them both go down 6 lbs & fill them. I think it helps even out that bald strip you get in the center.

Same for me, my tires leak 3-4 lbs/mo. I usually follow what's recommended : 38 rear and 33 front. My wife has a Harley Sportster with cast alloy wheels and tubeless tires, her tires allways stay at the same pressure, without leaking every month like mines...I don't understand ; alloy wheels with tubeless tires vs laced wheels with a tube inside the tire ?

Cheap Chinese tubes? I don't know. I am on my 3rd. set now. New tires? New tubes! The molecules for nitrogen are larger & are supposed to stay in the tire better. I will find out. I don't know what it costs to have nitrogen put in. At work we just do it. I did my SS Caprice too last week. Time will tell. I can't believe we have been doing it wrong all these years. Bob.

I have alloy wheels on the Speedy, never needs topping up, pressure is always the same...or my gauge is stuffed?

Front and rear tire pressures are not supposed to be the same. Factory recommends 33psi front and 38 rear, regardless of tire choice (bear in mind that the Bonneville has come from the factory with at least two different tire models). I usually inflate to 35 front and 40 rear, which should help to improve tire wear and handling slightly.
