Loud pipes

My D&D mufflers were very loud. Always have been. Last week I pulled the baffles out & cut off the insulation. It was very very dense fiberglass or cotton. Then it had been wrapped with clear reinforced packing tape. It must make the baffle act like a straight pipe with no perforations.
There must not have been any muffling going on because I wrapped the baffles with fiberglass insulation that you wrap pipes with & wired it on. Lowered the sound by 1/2. Much deeper tone. Loud enough when you are on the throttle. I now get complements from my ridding friends instead of complaints.
But I would like a little more noise so I am going to take them back out & try covering part of the baffle with aluminum foil. May 1/3 or 1/4 or 1/2 of it. My ridding friends can just suffer.
I still want the cars to look in their mirrors to see what is making all that racket behind them. I like when you blast up behind them & they change lanes.
Any other ideas or others experiences? I also have some Emgos that are loud. But they have an echo type chamber at the reverse cone end that makes them sound like a 4 cylinder to me. Cool sound. Repacking them did nothing. Or very little. But I like the D&D's better because they have the pipe bend built in & are shorter & have a kick stand bumper. Very high quality.
Should reach 20,000 trouble free miles in a couple of weeks. 2006 T100.

I am in the process of making a set of drag pipes for my 07. I have test fitted them and they are loud. I plan on putting one of the small J.C. Whitney baffles in them to cut some of the raspy sound. Next challenge is to make a kickstand bumper. When I get them done I will post pics and sound bite in the exhaust sticky.
