Fork slider refinishing

Hi guys
I have a project Bonnie that has quite a bit of damage to the black coating on the sliders. Anyone know what the coating is??? Paint, powdercoat, some unobtainable Triumph magic????
I would like to strip and refinish them back to black, again paint, powdercoat or....something else. Please note I dont want to polish them
Phil

If you are going to strip them anyway then powder coat would be good. If they are going to see abuse or just normal road wear then paint would work. Powder coat should be tougher. I was thinking "polish them" until I finished reading your post. Bare aluminum is tough to keep nice. Done that. Bob.

My 05 T100 has shiny black paint on the forks that chips off relatively easily. I believe earlier bikes had a powder coat finish and they seem to have gone back to that for subsequent years as they now have a satin finish that looks like the powder coat on the frame. I would certainly go for powder coat if I ever get mine refurbished.
